Thanks to fortuity and Lee Bryant‘s kindness of heart I joined the lift conference on Friday afternoon after lunch. I have made a few notes, and it could be that I will write a bit about it, and then it could be that I will not. It is not as though I am missing on material to write about, or the opportunity to write.

In short, RFID’s got totally back on my radar and I was reminded of this one paper that is in the pipeline and deals with issues around this technology. Vint Cerf was fantastic. But it was also great to chat, although much too briefly, with other lifters. Of course, I came home wanting an electronic tattoo that can not be hacked and can poken. But then… perhaps we already come equipped with such devices… There are a couple of talks that I want to find the time to watch the videos

Congratulations to Laurent Haug, the lift lab team, helpers and volunteers for another remarkable conference on the shores of the Lac Léman.

LIFT: reflux

One look at my calendar for the next months and I am wondering where the 52 hour day is, and when will they find a cure for the need to sleep!

To air out my intoxicated brain I went for a walk today after I caught up with sleep. Just left the house and started walking without any idea as to where to go. No plan, no destination, just walking and enjoying the spring-like day. Got to the Canadian residence and then headed up towards the Rosengarten and then towards the Salem. Gave Marc a call and dropped in for a cup of tea from Remo’ stash. Marc is stressed… and I was all elated. At one point I listed to him all that is going on and then it seemed totally irrelevant although it is very important to me all the same. We laughed, we joked, we had a wrestling match in the kitchen after he explained to me the role of women behind the stove, and then he was totally convinced that indeed women should not learn martial arts.

After LIFT I do feel like I am now in hyper-space. It is a good place to be. Somehow it is all finding its dynamics in my notes. I had absolutely fantastic conversations and a few surprises. One thing that I can say for sure is that it was three days of intense work, and that the nuit blanche brought a few insights that somehow bundle that whole package of experience rather precisely. If there was something on my agenda when I went to the conference, the nuit blanche was for sure the one item. I am very much in the mood of one of the many excellent talks: secrets lies & digital deception.

Many people at the conference have blogged about the various talks and happenings, and I will contribute my own two bits in uncondition and tensoriana once the dust settles a bit here. Hannes‘ live blogging is however the kind that I very much enjoy reading, that is, opinionated. Meanwhile have a look at the videos either at the conference website or at nouvo.
